Tips & Updates

This page is a database of tips on how to get the most out of the whole Connect site. You probably started here in all the pages under the "Connect" tab - but there's so much more. This page has lots of ways you can explore and start using all the features Connect has to offer.

Allow Pop-Ups So You Can Print From Workshop

Having trouble printing from Workshop? Does nothing seem to happen when you've customized a proposal and click the 'print' button? It's probably because you're using Internet Explorer and it's blocking popups from our site. Popups are extra browser windows that open up when you are doing other things. Often, these can be annoying, or contain unwanted advertising etc. which is why Internet Explorer blocks them all by default.

Sometimes however, it is useful and necessary for a website to be able to open up another window. This is what Connect does when it prints your proposals from the Workshop.

When you print a proposal, Connect turns it into a .pdf file and tries to launch the Adobe Reader in another browser window so you can preview the document and then print it. If your browser is blocking popups however (and especially, like Internet Explorer, doing it and not telling you), the .pdf will be blocked and you'll think nothing's happening.

You can disable popup blocking for the Connect site only in the following way:

In Internet Explorer, click the "Tools" button in the toolbar at the top.

Select "Internet Options"

Select the "Privacy" tab

Under the "Popup Blocker" area, click the "Settings" button

In the field "Addresses of Websites To Allow", type in ""

Click "Add"

Click "Close"

Click "OK"

You should now find that printing your proposals works just fine.

(For those of you using Firefox as your web browser, just click "OK" when Firefox asks you if you would like to allow popups for Connect).
