ARIA Connect Content Submission Policy (or, what happens to your stuff if you submit it to Connect)

OK, first the big legal paragraph:

When you post User Content to the Site, you authorize and direct us to make such copies thereof as we deem necessary in order to facilitate the posting and storage of the User Content on the Site. By posting User Content to any part of the Site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to the Company an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such User Content for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, on or in connection with the Site or the promotion thereof, to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such User Content, and to grant and authorize sub-licenses of the foregoing. You may request us to remove your User Content from the Site at any time, by emailing us at, with the subject "Removal of User Content". If you choose to remove your User Content, the license granted above will automatically expire, however you acknowledge that the Company may retain archived copies of your User Content. ARIA Inc. does not assert any ownership over your User Content; rather, as between us and you, subject to the rights granted to us in these Terms, you retain full ownership of all of your User Content and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with your User Content.

Which means:

  1. Whatever you submit remains your property, but by submitting content for display within the site (meaning on any pages or sub-sites of the aria-radio domain), you grant us very wide license to do what we want with it, and to allow other users of the site to do what they want with it as well. We maintain though that we will at all times treat your content with the utmost respect.
  2. The whole purpose of offering content to the site is so that other users can see / hear it and get ideas from it, hopefully which they will be able to use in their own markets. So, anything you submit, should be submitted with this common goal in mind
  3. If you want us to take anything you've submitted down, just let us know by emailing us at the email in the legal paragraph above.
  4. The fact that our site contains your content does not entitle you to any remuneration or share of any revenues the site makes generally. In this regard, we won't actually sell your material to other users as separate content. However, if we think that your submission could be turned into a separately saleable product we may approach you with regard to coming to some kind of agreement....!(You never know!?)
  5. The bottom line: sharing's good for everybody (we put lots of our free stuff on the site, too). So, if you want to join in, then submit away!
