revenue.generator FAQ

You've heard of 'seminar selling' before haven't you? You may think that it gets results, but at what cost? Doesn't it beat up your sales team, annoy your prospects and deliver a bunch of strong-armed contracts that fold within months?

Yes, usually. That's why we don't do it.

1) Isn't "revenue.generator" just boot camp - won't it destroy my sales team?

We take a very training-oriented approach, based on our forty years of radio sales experience. (Most of our competitors have never even worked as radio sales people). We insure that the program acts not just as a revenue-generating exercise, but also as a solid training and growth experience for your sellers. Your team should end up stronger after a 'revenue.generator' program

2) Won't a bunch of "sales seminars" hurt my station's reputation?

We provide a full six-week on-air campaign outline which positions our advertiser workshops as the culmination of a "Better Business Initiative" created by your station. This Initiative offers a range of business-centric programming elements in a NTR-style format that actually benefits your local business community - and your reputation!

3) Is the seminar content just a hard sell, "timeshare"-type session?

Our workshops are far and away the most educational, entertaining and valuable 60-minutes your local business owners are likely to attend. We focus on the fundamentals of advertising - in all media - and find out exactly what each attendee's individual advertising problems are and help solve them. No "hard-sell" of your station airtime is necessary. The airtime package offered at the close of each workshop is seen as a useful and natural ending to the show.

4) OK, so some attendees buy advertising. What about those who don't?

Our closing rates are high (average 1:4 attendees). However what this really means is that 75% of attendees still don't buy on the day. Our job therefore is to insure that ALL attendees leave the sessions feeling good about your station. We want even the ones who say "No" to be strong potential clients for you in the future.

5) Is the program expensive to run? Won't there be lots of hidden 'expenses'?

We charge no "licence fees" and do not require you to invest in expensive gifts or bribes to get potential advertisers in the room. We are vigilant about using your money exactly as if it were our own. We charge all our unavoidable, direct expenses back to you entirely at cost. We do not mark up any aspect of the program expenses and do not claim any unnecessary items. The less cash spent on the program, the more available for all of us in commissions! You will find the cash cost of running a program with us significantly cheaper than many of our competitors, bringing down your cost of sale substantially.

6) Won't all the airtime contracts fold once you've left my market?

Our years of experience in this field mean that the individuals on the ground have the personal skills necessary to adapt to circumstances as they arise and make a result happen. We have never yet run a program that delivered less than 22% of a station's direct, annual sales in new, additional revenue. Not only that, but because of our professionalism throughout all aspects of the program, the results last. Average annual attrition rates from contracts sold during our program are less than 8% - the best among all our competitors.
